Far better than a bar of chocolate, a packet of chips, or even a piece of fruit - nuts provide lasting energy. They are rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and essential amino acids, which means you stay full for longer.

They also stabilise blood sugar, unlike fruit which causes an insulin response.  They are, after all, designed to be a concentrated energy source for a growing plant.

Our nuts keep for a year or more due to their low water content and special hermetically sealed packaging.  You will find packets hidden away in desk draws all around Australia, our customers swear by their smooth ability to keep energy levels stable all day.

Why do we activate our nuts?

Nuts are naturally full of wonderful minerals, vitamins, protein and Omega 3’s. Raw nuts also contain a natural chemical called phytic acid which is an enzyme inhibitor which makes accessing these nutrients and digesting the nuts very difficult.

In order to easily digest and absorb all of the natural goodness in nuts, they need to be activated or ‘germinated’. We do this by soaking the nuts in purified water with pink salt and raw apple cider vinegar. This breaks down the phytic acid and causes the nut to begin to germinate and grow! Just like a seed planted in soil! So when you eat an activated nut you are eating a living food, easy to break down and full of nutritious goodness that your body can easily absorb!

We then slow dehydrate them at very low temperatures to make them a light, crisp, beautifully crunchy and a completely vegan snack. At The Activated Nut Company we dehydrate for 3 to 5 days, much longer than other activated nuts, as we believe in bringing the best nuts to our customers. Nutritionally and in taste!
